Abstract Expressionism
Jackson Pollock was known to be highly talented in abstract expressionist. He would lay a large canvas on the floor and move around it, dripping paint. He would move so rapidly and forcefully. Instead of standing away from the canvas, he'd step on it. He liked to include himself in the act. Jackson called his paintings 'action paintings'. Also he sometimes used his hands to smudge the paint. He never made his painting look like a real picture. The reason he chose to do this style was because, this was the only way he could express his feelings and emotions. The brush never touched the canvas, he'd just let the paint drip. The Time Magazine named him 'Jack The Dripper'.
Jackson's artwork was similar to one another because he used the same stlye. They are different because he used different materials for each painting. He used different colors. Each of Jackson's paintings express different feelings.
